Shixiong started his career as a network engineer at Nortel Networks in 1999. Three years later, he became system engineer, primary focused on IP networking and system integration in multi-vendor environment for Service Provider VoIP solution. In 2005, he joined Cisco System and obtained CCIE Routing and Switching certification a year later. In 2008, Shixiong joined Cisco Advanced Service organization and primarily focused on architectural design and deployment of Video solutions worldwide in datacenter environment. His customer included Tier 1 Service Providers and big enterprises. After being promoted to Solution Architect, Shixiong took the role of driving architectural design in pre-sale engagements and participated in discussion with marketing team on insertion strategy of video solutions. He also joined the team formed by Corporate Strategy Office to define mobile video solution and service offerings for both content providers and wireless service providers. In 2012, Shixiong was nominated to support Corporate Marketing Office event to showcase Cisco video solution in London Olympics on site. In the same year, Shixiong was invited to a joint effort between Cisco and Redhat to virtualize video applications on OpenStack. In 2013, Shixiong and his coworker successfully enabled OpenStack Grizzly, and then Havana releases over IPv6. The whitepapers were published and received warm acceptance from the community. He also delivered presentation to local OpenStack community during meetups on the same topic. Shixiong is now working for Nephos6 as Chief Technology Officer. He is also an active contributor to Neutron IPv6 track. He submitted multiple blueprints to Neutron project and is currently working with teams from Comcast, IBM and Cisco to add IPv6 support in upcoming IceHouse release.
