The Road to a Hyper-Converged OpenStack

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Next Generation Data Center architectures are designed around convergence of storage and compute. The narrative is that this convergence makes better business sense in terms of ROI. Still, this is only the first step in the right direction; looking at the software stack of existing solutions will reveal that the software components happen to execute on the same hardware but they are not aware of each other in terms of resource management, and specifically, interference. One may even characterize said convergence as integrated rather than converged.

A Hyper-convergence solution is one that not only places the various sub-systems on the same hardware but literally make them work in harmony. In this talk we will outline the requirements from a hyper-converged OpenStack and discuss solutions.
