Building Managed Private Cloud for Enterprises with OpenStack and MidoNet

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Network virtualization, especially the overlay network technology, is gaining momentum and has been widely accepted in IaaS cloud deployments. But is it a viable option for enterprise private clouds, given that each enterprise has its own unique requirements?

In 2013, KVH began looking to broaden its market by offering more open cloud solutions besides VMware cloud to its customer base.  KVH quickly settled on OpenStack as the foundation for a new type of managed private data center, but also wanted to create an environment where customers could easily place application workloads in any of its data centers. Today, using OpenStack and MidoNet, KVH offers managed a private cloud service for enterprises, all while meeting a wide range of their specific requirements and minimizing operation complexity.

In this session, we will look at customer case studies as well as discuss our experience in building private cloud services for the enterprise. We’ll discuss how we met specific requirements including: securing redundancy, building monitoring and reporting systems, and keeping stable operations and sustainable maintenance.
